The payment of compensation to the community in handling social impacts in the context of providing land for National Development for the Lake Toba Authority Zone Phase-I covering area of 279 hectares in Ajibata District, Toba Regency was witnessed by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, the Minister Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio via teleconference, Jumat, 10 Juli 2020.
The government continues to optimize the development of international standard tourism in Lake Toba. With that, the Government channeled a total of Rp 26.1 billion of social impact management funds to 204 people who carried out the cultivation of 279 hectares of land in the Pardamaen Sibisa Village, Ajibata District, Toba Regency, North Sumatra.
The compensation process refers to Presidential Regulation No. 62 of 2018 concerning Handling of Social Social Impacts in Land Procurement for National Development. In the presidential regulation the calculation of compensation is carried out by the Governor and can be delegated to the Regent.
The land has the status of forest and state property. So that the government has good intentions by providing financial support as money to replace plants planted by the community on the land.
The land was counted because there were 255 plots of land on top of which was cultivated by 204 people. These compensation funds are paid in stages. While only the first phase is 279 Ha and there will be a remaining Phase-II land area of 107.72 Ha.
This land will be built by Toba Caldera Resort and an international standard tourism facility. The implementation of the disbursement of funds for handling social impacts was carried out by the Lake Toba Tourism Authority (BOPDT), which was held at the Toba Regent’s Office, North Sumatra.
